HELSINKI, Finland, May 2021. Euformatics, a bioinformatics software company providing world-leading NGS interpretation and quality control tools has signed an extensive agreement with A&C Group to provide NGS software tools to three emerging NGS markets in Latin America.

The agreement positions Euformatics at the forefront of the growing demand for NGS technologies in Bolivia, Peru, and Paraguay, by working together with the official Illumina distributor for Bolivia and its sister organisations in the region. A&C Scientific has been responsible for building the customer base in Bolivia from the ground up through its partnership with Illumina, and as such is best placed to help those customers improve their NGS operations through the integration of Euformatics’ software tools.

In an NGS market which is projected to grow substantially in the next 5 years, the agreement puts both parties in a prime position to nurture and help the expansion of the NGS testing capabilities in all three countries through their joint efforts.

President of A&C Group, Enrique Aguinaga, said of the deal “Starting this partnership with Euformatics puts us in a great position to help laboratories improve their operations with NGS. The usability and flexibility of omnomicsNGS means that even laboratories who are new to NGS and starting out small have easy and quick access to the information they need to make key analysis decisions and generate reports. In combination with omnomicsQ, we can ensure that the quality of NGS data being generated is top-quality from the beginning. We are excited to work together over the coming years to ensure that NGS testing is common-place in the region.”

Euformatics CEO Tommi Kaasalainen

Euformatics CEO, Tommi Kaasalainen, commented “This is an extremely exciting region to be building partnerships in as the capacity for NGS testing continues to expand at a rapid rate. Working with A&C, who already have a strong network of connections on the ground and the know-how to help medical genetics customers transition to NGS technologies is really exciting. A world where patients have access to better personalised treatment through the adoption of NGS is our vision – we believe that this partnership allows both Euformatics and A&C to hit the ground running and make that vision a reality.”

The partnership highlights on Euformatics’ commitment to expanding its network of global distribution partners and builds on the momentum already generated earlier in 2021 from the agreement signed between the Finnish company and Brazilian company Síntese Biotecnologia.
