HELSINKI, Finland, July 2021. Finnish bioinformatics software company Euformatics, which develops and sells world-leading NGS interpretation and quality control tools, has signed a distribution agreement with Indonesian Illumina distributor PT Pandu Biosains.
Announcement of the agreement brings Euformatics expanded reach into the Southeast Asian market, and makes good on its push to target the region as part of its renewed 2021 strategy. The agreement covers the full omnomics Suite of products from Euformatics, and provides PT Pandu Biosains, the official Illumina distributor in the territory with the capability to offer a true end-to-end solution to their customers by including best-in-class quality control software (omnomicsQ) as well as a comprehensive variant interpretation and reporting tool (omnomicsNGS).
With a focus on delivering the best solutions specifically to customers working on genomics, PT Pandu Biosains is very well placed to add the Euformatics offering to its portfolio and bring the products to the ever-growing Illumina installed base in Indonesia. As is the case with uptake of NGS around the world, the market for the technology in Indonesia is growing at an exponential rate, with more private laboratories opening and making use of the technique. Home to the Eijkman Institute for Molecular Biology in Jakarta, Indonesia already has a history of NGS research that will no doubt help to influence the clinical usage of the technology too.
