Many diseases that have historically been incurable or untreatable will become curable or even preventable in the future due to increased understanding of our genomic data. Solving biological problems from this perspective is one of humanity’s greatest challenges.

We are looking for someone to play a key role in solving that problem and help in developing the company and its mission. Are you that someone?

What you will do

As an Application Scientist, you will play an integral role in the success of Euformatics, helping to drive both company trajectory in partnership with senior management as well as acting as a crucial interface between our customers and the development team. Your experience in human molecular genetics, particularly with the use of Next Generation Sequencing, combined with knowledge of bioinformatics will ensure a seamless experience for our customers and help them to get the most out of our products.

You will be responsible for our customers’ success. They are clinical geneticists in labs or hospitals diagnosing patients using our tools by interpreting, annotating, classifying and reporting on the clinically relevant variants in a sample. You will gain their trust as the go-to person when they need help or advice on how to solve issues or learn about how to get the most out of new features.

Your pedagogic skills allow you to transfer knowledge efficiently to the customers’ team regardless of whether they are a small lab with 2 geneticists or a large hospital with 50+ people in the pathology department diagnosing cancer samples. While doing this you will strengthen our customer relationships and ensure those you work with continue to keep our tools at the core of their diagnostics process.

You will work with your colleagues in the sales team to ensure that our customers are as satisfied as possible throughout their relationship with us, in particular with regards to their understanding and implementation of complex products.

What we offer you

The chance to make a real impact on the way diseases are treated. As a small company, we are a tight-knit, supportive group of specialists who all share the same mission and purpose. We offer an environment to freely share your ideas, brainstorm and give you the opportunity to make your own dent in the universe.

We are flexible in our working hours, as long as the work gets done. We do not expect you to work late into the night – this is Finland after all, not the USA. As a truly international workplace (we are 7 different nationalities and speak 12 languages between us), there is always a lot of energy bouncing about.

We are working at the forefront of technological change in a field which is already affecting the way we live. This is your chance to play a pivotal role in helping to drive that change and have a truly global impact on the way that clinical genetics is performed.

We play the infinite game here at Euformatics. And occasionally some ping pong as well. In order to succeed in a complex and difficult field we need to work with people that commit to our mission and are in this for the long term. We are looking for people that want to make a difference and have the drive to make a long-lasting change. If this resonates with your ambition, please get it touch. We would love to hear from you!
